Tonight the Rolling Stones played a rocking show to a sold out crowd of 55,000 at the Heinz Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The gig was the 9th of their ZIP CODE tour of North America and fans were treated to a 19 song set including songs from the recently rereleased Sticky Fingers, ‘Moonlight Mile’, ‘Bitch’ and ‘Brown Sugar’. The band paid tribute to Andy Warhol, who came from Pittsburgh and also created the artwork for the album, and displayed a photo of Warhol on the screens.
“We first played in Pittsburgh in 1964 at the West View Park Danceland, almost 51 years ago to the day! I read that we played to 300 heckling Pittsburghers..tonight, you can heckle all you want!”
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Good evening Pittsburgh! Good town! Here we go anyway…God bless you all.”
The Stones are now headed west to Milwaukee where they will play Summerfest with their friend Buddy Guy!
