Tonight the Rolling Stones played their first ever show in Perú!
The band played to an ecstatic crowd at the Estadio Monumental. Mick told the audience:
“Keith y yo vinimos en los sesentas. Cincuenta anos después finalmente estamos tocando en Perú.”
“Keith and I came here in the 60’s, 50 years later we’re finally playing in Perú!”
The show featured a different stage set-up, as much of the previously used set is currently being shipped to Cuba, where the band will play a free concert for over 500,000 people in less than three weeks.
Mick introduced his bandmates:
“And now the llama lover of Lima! On the guitar, Ronnie Wood! He loves you!
¡En bateria Charlieeeee Watts! (On the drums, Charlieeeee Watts!)
!Y mi campadre en vocales y guitarra Keith Richards! (And my brother from another mother! On vocals and the guitar, Keith Richards)”
The Rolling Stones are now heading north to Bogotá, Colombia. See you there!
