Plundered My Soul
About this video
Beautifully framed here by an evocative, mesmerising video, Plundered My Soul is the first of the new contemporary releases from the updated Exile On Main St., released on May 17th, 2010. This clever collage-style video, evoking the iconic mosaic cover of Exile, was made by Jonas Odell.
Archive Stones footage is counterpointed by sweeping cut in and out of the original album photos, which open up to give teasing glimpses of the band as they appeared and as they were in 1971 and 1972: musical magicians on the run, robbed blind by scheming businessmen, exiled from the country of the past forever, hunting desperately for legitimacy and new identity - and hurting badly as a result: “I thought you wanted my money but you plundered my soul”.
